The nature of RIO is within the power of relationships. Our prayer and goal are to connect with God´s remnant whom we believe is present in every nation, city, and community that we´re lead into to empower it with God´s vision through three main areas of focus, which are Evangelism, A Worship Experience, and Outreach.
Nicaragua: Where the river is flowing
La Roca is a church lead by Pastor Jairo Sanchez in San Marcos, Nicaragua. RIO Ministries first met Pastor Jairo in 2013 during an exploratory trip. This church gathered at the time under a little shelter surrounded by Plantain trees. Even though the entire congregation could not fit into the shelter, their passion for worshipping the Lord was contagious and more people came. As RIO continued to learn more about the community´s needs and connected with its leaders, God made a way for a missionary project to begin and enabled RIO Ministries to equip the church of La Roca with a new building. Several years later, this building is still the home to many new believers and a beacon of hope in the small town of San Marcos.
Nicaragua Mission Trip
2014
While working in La Roca Church in San Marcos, through our relationships with the community leaders, The Lord lead us to the Church “Impacto de Dios” a passionate congregation lead by Pastor Freddie Romero. This ministry had a vision for their own community in Jinotepe, a city rooted in traditionalistic religion but in much need of the life-changing True love of Christ. For that reason, we joined the efforts of pastor Freddie’s church by God´s grace providing for the building of a ministry house & worship center in the heart of Jinotepe that seeks to reach to out the children of the community through education and to families through the Gospel. The mission in Jinotepe is not over, it is our prayer that God continues to use RIO and the remnant in Nicaragua to complete his work in the community.
From Central America to South America
In the summer of 2014, The Lord lead RIO Ministries to connect with the remnant in Peru through the mission work of a Mexican missionary and friend, Febe de Leon, who has been living in the South American nation for the past seven years. Febe shared with the RIO Ministries board representatives about the church in Huancavelica with a focus on outreach and evangelism in the highland of The Andes, reaching out to tribes and people who haven’t heard the name of Jesus before. RIO Ministries then joined the efforts that Febe and other missionaries were already making in Peru, so after an exploratory trip, in 2016 a RIO Mission Team had the blessing and opportunity to take part in the building of the second floor of a Church that would be used as a Theology School and Evangelist training for the community of faith there, who would eventually be sent out to reach into further rural areas of The Andes and Peru.
We believe that we are living exciting times where more and more people are drawing closer to God. The cities & valleys will fill with the Joy and Glory of The Lord’s presence.
